In the heart of Bucknall, Encounter Kingsland is a collaboration between Kingsland CE Academy, St John’s Church and St Mary’s Bucknall. Together, they provide the local community with opportunities to connect and thrive.

The Lighthouse Centre & Lantern Café

Lighthouse: Shining in our Community

Make new friends, overcome challenges and learn new skills: the Lighthouse Centre, based in Kingsland CE Academy, is a community hub serving families across Bucknall.

With weekly workshops for parents and regular classes for younger children, the Centre is a fantastic resource for the whole community.

In the Lighthouse Centre, the Lantern Café is open daily, serving lunches, cakes and hot drinks. All proceeds from the café are used to support the children and families at the Lighthouse Centre.

  • Pop-in Cafe

    Parents & families are welcome to our pop-in café on Wednesday mornings from school drop-off, at Kingsland Academy. Join us for a hot drink and a chat.

  • Parent & Toddlers

    Join us every Thursday from 10am-11:30am for a fun, friendly parent and toddler group. Held at St Mary’s Church on Marychurch Road, Bucknall.

Kingsland Christmas Holiday Club

All children from Kingsland Academy primary school are invited to join us for a Christmas holiday club, exploring the Nativity story together. Come and be part of the fun on 22 & 23 December.
